After over 25 years with the leading company in Professional Nail Care, beginning as MIS Director, and then as Vice President of Information Systems, I am very experienced in all areas of manufacturing and distribution as it relates to Information Systems.
With the launch of my consulting practice in August, 2014, I am bringing my expertise to other companies, with a focus on the Professional Beauty Industry.
Throughout my career, I actively participated in development of procedures and software for the following departments: Accounting, Customer Service, Marketing, Operations, Order Fulfillment (pick/pack), Outside Sales, Purchasing, and Warehouse Management.
I have learned from very successful Beauty Industry leaders who built the company from an idea in 1981 into a business with sales in excess of $300 million annually, resulting in a 2010 acquisition at a price of nearly $1 billion. I have a full understanding of the business of beauty, not just in the Information Technology functionality of the business. On behalf of the company, I have worked directly with many of it's Professional Beauty Distributors as well as the company's vendors, helping them to grow their relationships and therefore their businesses.
After an acquisition in December, 2010, there was an immediate requirement for me to oversee the alignment of procedures with those of the parent company in the following areas: Information Systems, Software Development, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) Controls, Segregation of Duties, Public Entity Preparedness (for July, 2013 Initial Public Offering).
Also part of this alignment was with business interfaces: Global Material Master, Hyperian Financial Management, Windows Active Directory, and Video Conferencing.
I have extensive experience in the implementation, use, and customization of Sage MAS-90, and Sage 100 Products. In 1998, I facilitated the conversion from a Mini-Computer based ERP system to MAS-90 in preparation for Y2K: Conversion of all historical data back to 1993; Pre-implementation customization of MAS-90 to recreate features from prior system; Module by module implementation with zero down-time during changeover. MAS-90 is still in use with over 20 years of historical data online, and has scaled to manage sales volume six times greater than at its initial implementation.
Working with a Sage Master Developer, we designed, developed, and deployed a completely custom Warehouse Management System within the existing MAS-90 structure. The system runs the entire operations area of the business: receipt of goods, production, warehousing, pick/pack, and shipment. It currently supports more than 20 material handlers, over 60 pickers and packers, with over 30,000 SKU's stored in 125,000 bin locations.
With input from the Field Sales Team, I designed and implemented a Lotus Notes based Customer Relationship Management System that supports over 50 users globally: Real-time sales data; Automated E-Mail Sales Notifications for Orders, Invoices, etc.; Customer Contact Information, Customer Interaction Management; Sales Forecasting and Follow-up; Scheduling of Educational and Sales Events.
